This is my very first blog, ever. I set this up for use in my Collaborative Projects class. I have never used a blog before, or have even read other people's blogs. I always felt like if I wanted to hear news in someone's life, I would just ask them. I'm a huge advocate of face-to-face interaction. Not to say that I don't believe that technology is a wonderful and useful tool for bringing people together and for sending and receiving information, I do however disagree that I should be informed when my friend is hungry or what an acquaintance thinks about Obama's health care policies. However, the objective of this class is more to collaborate with people in class and outside, than to bare witness to their status updates. For this reason and to document my individual progress as well as class progress as our projects unfold, i write this blog.
Preliminary reservations aside,
I am very excited about this class. I am not very technology savvy and I can see that I will learn a lot from this class. Just examining the cameras and setting up the tripods at the start of last class was very helpful. Also, learning about the S-video connection makes me realize that technology isn't necessarily difficult to use, you just have to know what to do. I am confident that throughout this class, I will learn more and more of what to do and become a tech convert.
